OMBC Series Season Opener
MO Gritty 50 kicks off the OMBC Point Series with a NEW gravel event covering both a 50-mile and a shorter 30-mile loop through Mohican Country. Beginning and ending at Mohican Adventures, Gritty 50/30 rolls through the hills of the Mohican-Memorial State Forest, introducing riders to current and historic gravel and paved routes from the Mohican MTB100 plus short stretches of relatively easy singletrack/doubletrack dispersed throughout to keep you guessing about whether to use your gravel bike or your mountain bike.
Featuring Great Lakes Brewing Craft Brews free to all registered racers of legal age
Cub Country BBQ Food Truck will be offering fresh smoked meats with all the fixin's!
All racers earn OMBC Series Points: OMBC Series points will be awarded based on overall placing in either the Gritty 50- or 30-mile races.

Youth 10-11 and 12-14 are welcome to participate only if they ride with parents or guardians and with a parental or guardian signature on their race waiver. There are dangers on the road including crossing SR3 and other state routes.
*There is no Tandem division in OMBC Point Series so Tandem racers will not receive series points and are not eligible for overall award but are eligible for awards within the Tandem division.
Map Note: Course is subject to change due to trail condition on short sections of singletrack. The Outpost is no longer included so please do not trespass on private property there. New 2024 maps will be posted soon that alter the path through the Outpost.

NO Trespassing WARNING: This course includes sections of trail located on private properties. These trails can only be ridden on race day by registered riders! Any rider caught trespassing will be banned from the event and may face trespassing charges. Yes, there are motion activated cameras installed on some of these sections. Please don't ruin it for everyone by trespassing.

MO Gritty 50 and 30 Signage and Support
Mohican MTB100 directional signs will be located at each road crossing and along trail sections where needed.
There is one aid station for the 50-mile racers located at the Bridge of Dreams. This Aid will be stocked with water, Hammer Heed, Coke, cookies, bananas, M&Ms and pretzels or chips.

Aid Station Cutoffs: Aid Station #1 (Bridge-of-Dreams) cut off time: 1:00pm
Those who choose to continue riding, do so at their own risk, and without aid or sweep.
Rules for MO Gritty 50 and 30 Milers:
- In case of an emergency, call 911.
- Please mount number plates to handlebars only. DO NOT trim, bend or fold number plates.
- Racers must wear a helmet while riding their bicycle.
- Racers must obey all city, county and state laws, and “Rules of the Road”. There will not be anyone stopping traffic at intersections and road crossings. All riders must watch for and yield to traffic.
- PAY ATTENTION: Riders are responsible for their own safety; this includes staying on the correct side of the road and being especially careful at blind corners and cresting hills.
- Please be courteous to all travelers, bikes, cars, trucks and buggies. This includes yielding to automobiles and allowing them to pass on long hill climbs.
- If you encounter horse and buggy or horseback riders on the route, please slow down, announce yourself by saying, for example, “Hi! Great day for a ride”. Always pass with care! Horses can be easily spooked and easily frightened.
- Private and Sponsor vehicles are not allowed to support racers.
- Racers may only receive hand-ups from other racers or at the lone designated aid station for Gritty 50 Milers located at the Bridge of Dreams.
- Racers who exit the course must return to where they left the route and continue from there.
PLEASE DO NOT LITTER. Leave no trace and pack out your wrappers, water bottles, tubes etc. Racers found littering may be disqualified.

For racers planning air travel to the event, Mohican
recommends Akron Canton Airport
(CAK) as a most convenient alternative.
It is a small, friendly regional airport located 62.9 (1hr 11min) miles.
from the venue. The airport serves most major
airlines including Southwest, Frontier, United, Delta, US Airways and Air
Tran. The race is also located 74.7
miles (1 hr 25 min) from Cleveland Hopkins Airport
(CLE) and 78.5 miles (1hr 27 min) from Port
Columbus Airport (CMH).
Driving
directions:
FROM CLEVELAND - Take I-71 South to
Exit # 173 (Mansfield / Lucas exit) to St. Rt. 39. Go East to Loudonville,
approximately 18 miles. In town, take St. Rt. 3 South about 1.5 miles to
Mohican Adventures.
FROM CANTON- Take US Route 30 west to
Wooster, then St. Rt. 3 South to Loudonville, approximately 20 miles. Follow
St. Rt. 3 through Loudonville. Mohican Adventures will be about 1.5 miles south
of town.
FROM TOLEDO- Take US Route 75 South to
US Route 30 East, then US Route 60 south to Loudonville. Pick up St. Rt. 3 south in Loudonville, follow that south of town 1.5 miles to
Mohican Adventures.
FROM COLUMBUS - Take I-71 North to Exit
#165 (Lexington / Bellville exit). Turn right onto St. Rt. 97. Go east
approximately 20 miles, and 97 dead ends onto St. Rt. 3. Turn left on St. Rt.
3, come north past the Mohican State Park and it is about 1 mile to Mohican
Adventures.
FROM AKRON -Take I-76 west to St. Rt.
21 south, 21 south to St. Rt. 585 south to Wooster. Pick up St. Rt. 3 south to
Loudonville approximately 20 miles. Follow St. Rt. 3 through Loudonville,
Mohican Adventures will be 1.5 miles south of town.
FROM Cleveland–Hopkins Airport
You will enter I-71 approximately 5
miles north of the Ohio Turnpike. For I-71 south, take exit #161 from the Ohio
Turnpike. Proceed South on I-71
approximately 45 miles to Hwy. 250 (exit #186).
Take 250 West approximately 1.7 miles to Hwy.
42 South. (If you find yourself in Ashland proper you’ve missed 42. There are several stoplights on 250 West
between the one at the exit from I-71 and the one at the 42 South ramp). Make a left
onto the Hwy. 42 South ramp just beyond an overpass. At end of ramp, turn right
(south) onto 42. Take 42 about 1.7
miles. Watch for the "To 60
Loudonville" sign and turn left when you see it. After a very short connection, about 4 car
lengths turn left again. ("To Loudonville 60" sign). After another very short distance you will
meet up with Hwy. 60. At 60 turn right
(South). Take Hwy. 60 South about 16
miles to State Route 3 in Loudonville.
Mohican Adventures is located on 3058 on State Route 3.
