OMBC Race Series #2 rescheduled for October 10

RESCHEDULED FOR OCTOBER 10, The Grand Barn will serve as the Ohio Series Championship Race

Race description:  The original bad ass, old school Mohican race course begins on a high ridgeline near at the Grand Barn, The race course features 1300 feet of elevation gain. Race begins with a long, winding down-hill with fast gravel sections connecting leaf blown single track, several scattered rock gardens, shallow stream crossings, and TWO unforgettable best in class, lung busting climbS that will leave no doubt about who rules the early race season in Ohio!

When:
NO Race Day Registration, racers must register online. 

Race begins Saturday at High NOON beneath the large OMBC banner located at The Grand Barn.

Where: The Grand Barn, on Vess Road near Loudonville

Due to Covid 19, State guidelines must be adhered to including staying at least 6 feet apart unless passing along the trail. Chip timing by Vertical Runner will be used and racers sent in small groups by division beginning with Expert Men. Please DO NOT show up at the start line until your division is announced over the loudspeaker. Be sure to stay at least 6 feet apart while waiting for your start wave. Podiums will be 6 feet apart and racers will be asked to remain socially distanced after the race.

General course description:
Each lap is 7 miles in length with 1300 feet of elevation gain

Entry Fees: All Divisions online registration just $35, Novice Youth 12-14 and 8-11 just $10 for online registration 

Distances by Class:
Men's Expert, , Single speed, Expert Masters 45+ – THREE LONG LAPS - 21 miles
Women’s Expert - 2 laps, 14 miles
All Sport divisions – 2 laps 14 miles
All Novice/Beginner divisions – 1 lap – 7 miles

Novice: Prizes courtesy of OMBC Sponsors. Fully one third of each division is eligible for prizes and recognition. First place receives first pick of the prize table.
All racers will receive a state ranking posted to the official website of the Ohio State Series at www.ombc.net. 

Race Number Plates: If you do not already have an OMBC number plate, you can pick up a custom permanent race number at registration for $5 that is refundable at any time. Using your permanent number plate will speed the time it takes you to register at future events and is yours to keep.

ABOUT The Grand Barn: “The Grand Barn” at The Mohicans, is located on seventy-five wooded acres and is ideal for weddings and corporate retreats with an “elegant, rustic, vintage barn” feel. This two story timber frame building nestled amongst hardwoods and pines high atop the hills of the Mohican Valley includes hand hewn logs, hardwood flooring, an expansive solid oak rustic staircase leading up to an upper level with access to a second story outside deck. There is also a large covered deck on the main floor, perfect for a banquet, wedding ceremony, or pre-dinner cocktail hour. Both decks have dramatic elevated views of the Mohican Valley making a breathtaking back drop for guests. Rustic details abound such as sliding barn shutters, “hay loft” ladder and solid pine trusses. The driveway up to The Grand Barn passes by a serene half-acre lake. We also feature two tree houses professionally designed by the world renowned Pete Nelson. This versatile venue is perfect for corporate outings and weddings of every season.
Tree House Brewing: Featured on "Tree House Master’s" shown on the Discovery Channel. The episode is titled “Treetop Taphouse”, and features Tree House Brewing Company, which is located with walking distance near the start/finish.
Great Lakes Brewing will be serving up craft brew at no charge to all registered racers. 

Directions: The Grand Barn 23164 Vess Road
From SR3 in Loudonville, follow the state scenic byway designated, Wally Road, for 11 miles past Mohican Wilderness one more mile to Vess Road. Turn right onto Vess road and follow two miles to the Grand Barn. Follow Race parking signs from Vess Road.
