Note to racers
regarding horses on the Blue Trail:
Horses may be traveling along a short section of the Blue Trail from the end of
the snowmobile trail, crossing SR97 to CR3234, about five miles past aid
station one. Although notices have been put up requesting that they avoid this
section of trail until 1pm, this is a public horse trail. If you encounter a
horse, YOU MUST, stop and walk your bike or pull your bike off the trail to
allow them to pass. Horses often view moving bicycles as predators and can
panic, causing a real danger to the rider! Be sure to talk to the horseman as
you approach and as they pass since this will help put the horses at ease. If
an incident occurs because of your neglect of this rule, you may be
disqualified.
