Born to Run, The Movie
Posted on: 7 Feb 2015

Last week, Deadline reported that actor Matthew McConaughey would be starring in an upcoming movie based on Christopher McDougall’s 2009 bestseller, Born to Run. The book documents a 2006 race in Mexico’s Copper Canyon between top U.S. ultrarunners and the local Tarahumara people, famous for running days on end in homemade sandals. More INFO HERE

Many of you may recall that Micah True, featured in the book "Born to Run" competed in the Mohican 50 and met many of you in a lecture at the Loudonville, Library in 2011 before his tragic death in 2012.

Mohican Trail 100, 50 and Marathon Registration OPEN
Posted on: 19 Dec 2014
Registration for the Mohican Trail 100, 50, and Marathon is now OPEN but limited to the first 700 to register.

There is no change in price from last year, however,
Change in MEAL PLAN: This year, the Friday night pasta dinner and Sunday morning breakfast will be open to anyone who purchases a meal ticket, including Marathon runners, crews, and spectators. However, both meals will be optional and extra for runners rather than included in your entry fee. Since many runners don't show up for the meals, they will no longer be paying for those meals and we hope this change will also help us better determine how many actual meals we need to prepare.

Colleen Theusch passed away today
Posted on: 11 Dec 2014
Colleen Theusch, who has been the heart and soul of The Mohican Trail 100 Run for 25 years, passed away today at 12:01.
Just a few short months ago, Colleen was diagnosed with inoperable stage III pancreatic cancer. Many of you knew her as the purple lady. Purple was her favorite color and the color of the clothing she wore at the race so that runners would more easily recognize her. She met with runners throughout the race, gathering their stories and sharing them in her full report to Ultra Running Magazine each year.

Colleen had no official position with the race but did many things that helped make this race special for so many runners, including snail mailing photo's to each and every finisher she captured with her tiny disposable camera. We are thankful that she is no longer suffering but she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. When available, details will be posted here on funeral arrangements.
