Movement Between Classes:

If moving down from a higher class such as expert to sport, points cannot be carried down, which, in effect, means you will forfeit those points. Points can, however, be carried up if moving to a higher class, for example, from sport to expert. This allows upward movement during the series but penalizes downward movement with forfeiture of points. Lateral moves, such as moving from Sport to Sport Clydesdale or from Single Speed to Expert or Vet Open also results in forfeiture of points. Division winners, with the exception of Pro/Expert, are required to move up to a higher class the following season.

Average Race Distance By Class:

Expert/Vet Open/Single Speed: 20-30 miles
Sport and Clydesdale: 10-15 miles
Beginner: 5-8 miles

Series Points: Overall points -XC: Best 5 of 11 races count PLUS the OMBC Championship race at Mohican Wilderness on October 24

Series Awards: Series awards will take place at the post-season Award Banquet/Ski/Party. Mark your calendars, The Awards Banquet is typically held at Snowtrails Ski Resort on the second Saturday in December. For 2010, that would be Saturday, December 11. The awards banquet coincides with Snowtrails Pre-Season Ski Party. www.snowtrails.com Entry to the OMBC awards banquet is free and all racers, family and friends are welcome to attend. All OMBC racers are eligable for door prizes.

Only XC racers who have completed at least 5 of 11 series events PLUS the Championship race on October 24 are eligable for OMBC Series recognition and awards. The date and location of the OMBC Awards Banquet to be announced.
