Battle of Turkey Run at S&S Trails

Hosted by OMBC Champions Chris and Colleen Skinner!

Race Description:  This year’s race promises to be bigger and better than ever, with the OMBC Series largest picnic and post-race party! Post-race treats will include Burgers and Dogs, covered dishes and a variety of deserts to tempt the palate. Racers and spectators are also encouraged to bring your favorite treat to share with everyone. Best of all, there will be plenty of cold, draft brew to wash it all down courtesy of the official beer of the OMBC Series, Great Lakes Brewing.

Race Info:  After suffering severe wind damage in 2012, S&S got a little wider and faster and was in excellent shape for last year’s race.  Despite the severe climbing, the course had a new and faster flow and was enjoyed by many racers.  This year brings new challenges and more changes due to a timber theft incident over the winter  that affected nearly half the wooded acreage at S&S.  As a result, this year’s course will be 4.5 miles, more grass trail, less woods and less climbing.  Riders’s comments so far include, “easier than last year”, “love the new trail”, “giant cyclocross course”, “needs more rocks”, “faster than last year!”.  Regardless of these temporary changes to the venue, the race will go on as it has in the past, good food, good beer and good times.  Plans for next year’s course include the return of two featured climbs and rock gardens plus an additional 2 to 3 miles of flowing singletrack.
