AC DC - Alum Creek Dam Challenge

 

Hosted by COMBO, Alum Creek State Park and Corps of Engineers.  Sponsored by Roll of Columbus

 

Race Description:  The race will stage at the south end of the beach parking lot.   Red marks the start and finish line.  White represents the out and back portion of the race course and the portion of the race course that is on top of the dam. The blue trail is the single-track area where the laps will be completed. Kids races on short nature trails.

Race Info:  

  • Novice Race- Out to single track, one lap on single track and back to start/finish line.  Approx 10 miles. 
  • Sport Race- Out to single track, 2 laps on single track and back to start/finish line.  Approx 16 miles. 
  • Expert Race – Out to single track, 3 laps on single track and back to start/finish line.  Approx 22 miles. 

Registration:  Registration open 9:00 AM

Saturday: Non Competitive Group Ride

 Noon - Get Fit Naturally ride on Saturday September 22 at 11a.m.  Meet at the Phase I trailhead on Lewis Center Rd.  Directions @www.spokejunkies.com

 Sunday: Race and Times

 9:00 a.m. – Registration opens

 11:00 a.m. – Novice and Sport race

 1:00 p.m. – Expert race

1:15 p.m. – Kids Race 12 and under

Driving directions:  

Directions from I-71 South: 

Exit at the Polaris Parkway exit just north of Columbus. Go East on to Polaris Parkway. Turn left on to Worthington Rd just past Germain Amphitheater.  Turn left on Africa  Road.  (Second Light). At the 4 way stop Turn left onto Lewis Center road.  Follow Lewis Center for about 2 miles to the Alum Creek State park beach area (Right turn in to beach parking area) Staging area will be at the far right or south end of the beach.

Directions from I-71 North:

Exit at mile 131, Rt. 36/37.  Go west a short distance and turn south (left) onto Africa Road, just past the RV dealer.  Continue approximately 6 miles until the intersection with Lewis Center Road.  Turn right onto Lewis Center Road.   Follow Lewis Center for about 2 miles to the Alum Creek State park beach area (Right turn in to beach parking area) Staging area will be at the far right or south end of the beach.
